Najczęściej
odwiedzanym miejscem w całej prowincji Bukidnon jest, bez wątpienia, klasztor
Benedyktynów (Monastery of Transfiguration) w San Jose, Malaybalay City. Oddalony
ok. 100 km od Cagayan, klasztor jest miejscem pielgrzymkowym. Pielgrzymi chętnie
odwiedzają to miejsce, nie tylko ze względu na ciekawy klasztor, wspólnotę
mnichów, ale również ze względu na piękne, górzyste położenie klasztoru. Wokół
klasztoru mnisi posiadają ponad 100 h ziemi. Dzięki temu mogą kontynuować starą
benedyktyńsą tradycję pracy na roli oraz mają zapewnione milczenie, tak
potrzebne do medytacji.
Wsród wielu
ciekawych punktów do zobaczenia (gospodarstwo, muzeum, szkoła, sklep własnych
produktów...) kosciół klasztorny, pod wezwaniem Przemienienia Pańskiego, jest
zapewne najbardziej atrakcyjnym miejscem turystycznym. Wygladający z daleka jak
piramida, kościół zbudowany jest jako „namiot.” Mnisi chcieli, aby był to jeden
z namiotów, który św. Piotr pragnał zbudować na górze Tabor, kiedy zobaczył
Mojżesza, Eliasza i Jezusa w czasie jego przemienienia (Mat 17, 4). O.
Columbano OSB, jeden z tutejszych mnichów,
dumnie powtarza, że zamiast trzech, jest tylko jeden namiot, ale to
namiot samego Pana Jezusa.

z klasztoru Przemienienia znani sa w oklicy z pracy i modlitwy, ale rownież
słyną z dobrej kawy (Monks' Blend) produkcji orzeszków ziemnych i smacznych
przetworów z ich gospodarstwa, jak peanut
butter, czy peanut brittle (piniato)...
Ludzie przyjeżdżają tutaj z daleka, aby kupić te unikalne produkty.
Klasztor w Malaybalay jest rownież wspaniałym miejscem
na odpoczynek, relaks i modlitwę. Wspaniała natura, chłodny górski klimat (20 °C)
jak i modlitewna atmosfera tego miejsca bardzo temu pomaga. To dobre miejsce na
wielkanocną przerwę czy rekolekcje.

Without a doubt, the most visited place in the whole
Province of Bukidnon is the Benedictine Monastery of the Transfiguration in San
Jose, Malaybalay City. Located 100 km away from Cagayan de Oro City it is a
place of pilgrims because of the monastery, community of monks and its lovely
location surrounded by mountains. The monks reserved more than 100 hectares of
land there to continue the old tradition of Benedictine agriculture and to
protect silence around the monastery.
Among the various features of the Monastery (farm, museum,
school, native shop… etc.) the church of the Transfiguration is the most
recognizable. It has become a tourist attraction because of its eye catching
Pyramid-like structure truly so unique and distinct from other churches in the
country. In fact, it is a big “tent” that St. Peter was about to make on Mont
Tabor when he saw Moses, Elijah and Jesus transfigured in his presence (Mt 17:4).
Fr. Columbano OSB, one of the monks, proudly declares that there is not three but
only one tent which belongs to Jesus.
The Monastery of the Transfiguration is run by the
Benedictine Monks. Aside from living a silent life of continued prayer and
missionary work, Benedictine Monks are known for its Monks’ Blend Premium
Coffee, Monks’ Peanut Butter, roasted peanuts, and peanut brittle called
Piniato widely sold in the different parts of Mindanao.
More than a tourist destination, the Monastery of the Transfiguration
is a perfect place for solemn reflection and retreat. Ideal place for Easter break
from daily routine and personal prayer.
