tajfunu. 4.095.280 to ci, którzy utracili dom i swoje mienie. Wielu z nich
zostało doszczętnie zniszczonych, a 598,404 częściowo uszkodzonych.
Ostateczna cena
₱ 18,2 billionów to znaszczenia
infrastruktury, a ₱ 18,5 bilionów to produkty rolnicze i naturalne.
S. Linlee niedawno odwiedziła to
doświadczyła i zobaczyła. Warto przeczytać. Poniżej dołączone są też jej zdjęcia
z Tacloban.
It is more than three month since the super typhoon Yolanda
(international name Haiyan) hit the Philippines. It was the strongest typhoon
of this century and one of the strongest in the entire history of the
Philippines. At present we already know numbers of death, missing and affected caused
by this disaster. Below there is a list of these numbers. It is sad to see but
necessary to realize the scale of damage in Visayas Islands (central part of
the country) by this super typhoon.
The official death toll is now at 6,201. At least 3,424,593
families or 16,078,181 individuals were affected by the typhoon, with 4,095,280
people displaced.
Some 550,928 homes were totally destroyed while at least
598,404 houses were partially damaged.
The cost of damage wrought by Yolanda rose up to P36.6
billion ($ 82 mln) with P18.2 billion coming from damages in infrastructures
and P18.5 billion for destroyed crops, livestock, fisheries, and irrigation
facilities.
Below there is a summary of an article written by one of the
voluntaries who came to Tacloban City with relieved operation and help. Sr
Linlee Vios, as the witness of the damage after the typhoon, reports her
experience and documents it with a few pictures.
“Three months after Yolanda” by Sr
Linlee Vios:
Three months after the super typhoon
Yolanda, the people in Leyte are still living in misery but with renewed hope
and unwavering faith in God.
January 16, 2014, I and two others
Sisters set forth for our mission in Tacloban, Leyte. The day we arrived and
saw the place personally my heart was broken, I couldn’t believe of what I saw.
Still most of the buildings and houses were still rope less, other collapsed we
can only see pieces of wood scattered, wall and pillars nakedly standing,
coconut trees were lifeless. We saw some families were still living in the tent
their temporary shelter. And electricity was not yet restored; none stop rain
those five days we were in the in Leyte day and night. It was horrible, my
faith was tested. The first two days of our mission I was carried by my
emotion. I was confused I do not know what to. I told to my co-sisters
everybody needs help here but we have only limited resources and days to do our
mission. It was my reaction to the situation we were facing.
(…) What was amazing that in the
midst of their misery you can still see and feel the warmth of the smile in
their faces and their renewed hopes and unwavering faith in God. Most of them
share to us and said: “with the grace of God sisters we learned to accept and
embrace the situation, we cannot but surrender everything to God. He never
abandoned us God continuously sending people in good will to assist our needs”. It was a reawaken of my faith again. Yeah,
Lord I said truly... “The language of the Cross remains nonsense for those who
are lost. Yet for us who are saved, it is the power of God.” 1 Cor.1:18.
(…) For all of you who generously
share your resources, money, sympathy and prayers, thank you, because of you
they gain their strength, hopes and start to dreams again.
We were able to help 9 families, 2
families in Palo, Leyte, 1 in Manloy, Carigara, Leyte and 6 in Tanawan, Leyte.
They received the building materials for the construction of their houses.
